Java Client Instructions

It is possible to use IOL without the ICA client if "Java" software is installed and enabled. Sun Java runtime is free software, and commonly used. For more information on Sun Java, please visit http://www.sun.com. The procedure below will change the Citrix client choice on a specific computer. This will permit the IOL application to load on that computer, using Java. The original “server default” selection can be easily restored, should the ICA client be desired.

  • Go to http://www.iroquois.com and select the Customer Activities link.
  • Ignore the "ICA client not found" warning, and complete the login.
  • Click "user interface" tool symbol (found below the IOL logo).
  • Locate the "Client Deployment Preference" near the bottom of the settings (scroll area as needed).
  • Click the client selection box, and choose "Client for Java" and click.
  • Click OK. The setting will be "remembered" on this computer, unless web browser files (cookies) are cleared.
  • If using a "Pop-Up" blocker, please set it to "always allow" pop-ups from this site.
  • On the Applications List, click the IOL symbol
  • After clicking the IOL symbol, a message "loading java applet" will appear.
  • If a Java Security Windows appears (for Citrix or for Iroquois) select "Grant Always" or "Always Run" on both (click OK).
  • The IOL application should be available for use within a short time, depending on the internet connection available.
