The Iroquois pipeline commenced full operations on January 25, 1992, creating an important pipeline link between North American markets and western Canadian natural gas supplies. Producers in Alberta would enjoy increased access to lucrative incremental markets in the United States, Northeast energy companies would profit from diverse supply options, and consumers would benefit from more competitive energy choices.

Since 1992, we've expanded our system to meet the needs of our customers, while minimizing the impacts on local communities. In 1993, we constructed a compressor station in Wright, New York; in 1994, we constructed a second station in Croghan, NY. In 1998, in Athens, NY., we added a third compressor station to our system. In 2004, upon completion of the Eastchester project, Iroquois had two additional compressor stations in service, at Boonville and Dover, NY. We continue to evaluate reasonable expansions to our system to increase services to energy markets in the Northeast.

Iroquois has more than doubled the amount of gas which flows through the pipeline on an annual basis since 1992, while our transportation rates have decreased overall by almost 44%.
